Some things you might want to ask about…

Q: When should I contact LMR Elder Care?

A: While the simple answer is “sooner than later” we are here for you in crisis or to help you plan for long term care contingencies. You and your loves ones opportunities for care and planning are unlikely to be available if we are dealing with an emergency situation.

Q: Do you offer complimentary consultations?

A: Yes. We are pleased to offer each prospective client a 15 minute complimentary telephone exploratory conversation.

Q: Can a care manager save you money?

A: Definitely! We have expertise in the areas of social services, benefits and law. Effective planning, monitoring and advocacy can help you avoid expensive and emotionally taxing crises such as an emergency hospitalization or even guardianship proceedings.

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: Many long term care insurance policies include a care coordination benefit and we can provide the documentation that you need to submit to your carrier for possible reimbursement. As we are not medical providers, traditional health insurance and Medicare do not cover our services.

Q: If I hire LMR Elder Care, how do I know who will actually be working with my family?

A: Unlike other care management companies where you may find yourself assigned to a per diem or part-time employee, when you hire LMR Elder Care the only aging life care managers working for your family are owners. We keep our caseloads manageable so that we can devote the time and attention needed to our clients and their family caregivers.

Q: Do you have home health aides on staff?

A: No. We believe that offering private pay care management AND home care from the same company results in, for example, what the social worker code of ethics refers to as a “dual relationship.” This creates an inherent conflict of interest and while it may work as a revenue stream for the serving agency, this is never in the best interest of the client.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes we are.
